Grade Placement

We look at age and grade level of the preceding school

The following grade placements are adhered to. Exceptions to these age guidelines are made infrequently and only upon careful evaluation by the Principals and the Director.

Grade 1
Students must turn 6 years of age by 31 December. In some rare cases exception can be made for children up to 3 months younger.

Grade 2 through 8
Students are placed in a grade compatible with their age on evidence of successful completion of the preceding grade or year.

Grade 9 through 12
Students are placed in a grade compatible with their age and on evidence of successful completion of the preceding grade or year. Applicants for grade 9 have to prove through a written exam that they stand a good chance of passing their exams in Grade 10. Applicants for grade 11 have to prove through a written exam that they stand a good chance of passing their exams in Grade 12.

Furthermore a table helps us to establish approriate grades for children joining us from various countries.
