Admissions & Placement
Berlin International School is delighted to receive applications from students of all nationalities who wish to benefit from an international education. Admission criteria are based on age, previous academic performance and conduct. Where English is a foreign language, proficiency level is also evaluated by the school.
The school requires parents and children to attend an interview prior to placement. Once placement is decided, students will be invited to attend school for 2-3 trial days after which a final placement decision is made. All students will undergo a six week observation period in order to confirm the placement.
- A contract will be offered to accepted students – the contract needs to be signed and prepaid for 3 months at the time of signing. An application fee will also be charged.
- Grade 1 – German students without prior knowledge of the English language may be admitted if space is available
- Grade 2-5 – German students will have to prove proficiency in the English language to be considered for admittance, except for exceptional circumstances.
- International families may apply at any time – they may be admitted if space is available
