The PYP Concept in brief

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) focuses on the development of the whole child, in the classroom, but also in the world outside, through other environments where children learn. It offers a framework that meets the children's several needs: academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural.

The Primary Years Program offers a comprehensive, inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. It provides an internationally designed model for learning and incorporates guidelines on student learning styles, teaching methodologies and assessment strategies. The curriculum framework is an expression and extension of three inter-related questions:

• What do we want to learn?
• How best will we learn?
• How will we know what we have learned?
