Our goal is to develop and articulate a program for Grade 6-8 that is built around interdisciplinary teaching and learning, language and communication, critical thinking and global citizenship.
Teaching and learning within this program will be based around competences, concepts and content.

Grades 9-10

International General Certificate of Secondary Education
The IGCSE, the final stage of our Middles Years, is an internationally recognized qualification for school students, typically in the 14-16 age groups, grades 9&10. The IGCSE prepares students for further academic work including progression to the IB Diploma Programme. It is recognised by academic institutions and employers around the world. IGCSE encourages learner-centered and inquiry-based approaches to learning. It develops learners’ skills in creative thinking, inquiry and problem solving, giving learners excellent preparation for the next stage in their education.

Mittlerer Schulabschluss (MSA)
The MSA is a nationally recognised German exam, designed for all students in Berlin to make sure that those students who leave school after Grade 10 have a recognised qualification.  B.I.S. offers students a unique possibility in providing them with various and varying pathways to educational and vocational achievement. It recognises the importance of awarding our national and international students with a certificate that opens up many pathways for success nationally and internationally.

Grades 11-12

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IGCSE)
The IB DP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) has been operating world-wide for over 50 years. Completing the course results in students being awarded a worldwide recognized diploma.
The IBDP is a two year program. Students study 6 subjects and three core elements, and complete examinations at the end of the program.
